The day my brother Sef walked out my house after seeing Rosa leave to go out, he hasn't spoken two words to me or Yas, and that was eating me up. We have always been close, so I was taking it extremely hard. He wasn't speaking to any of us, so I went by his house to apologize for my part in what he felt was betrayal.

When I got there, he had a For Sale sign on the property. I asked my mom, and she said he had been by to see Alia and took her a few times, but he didn't say much. I know my brother loves Rosa, but he messed up, and now he's taking it out on all of us. I tried calling him, but his number was changed too. The only thing I can say is he was still handling business because a few of the guys would tell Yas that he had just left.

Rosa wasn't doing too good either. Sef finally signed the divorce papers, and once she got them, she shut down and started crying hysterically. She was screaming how could he sign them and he must really not love her. I don't understand when that's what she claimed was the right thing to do. She stopped eating and her sleeping habits were horrible. The bags under her eyes you could see a mile away, and all she did was stay in the house.

He left her the cars and the house, in which she declined, so he's selling the house. The cars were all hers and her bank account overflowed with money. She tried calling him, but like I said, his number was changed. Sef didn't want anyone to find him, and he was doing a damn good job at hiding out. It had been four months since she left him, and it had been nothing but sadness in my house.

My dad sent me to meet with Rico that day, because Yas was busy doing who knows what, and he didn't want Rico to see that Sef was off his game. As fate would have it, I ran into Farriq again, and this time, he made sure we exchanged phone numbers.

I was a bit skeptical at first, because I had no idea who he was or what he was about; my brothers had always done research on the guy before I was able to call him. He called me a few days later, and we’ve been speaking on the phone, texting and Facetiming almost every day over the last two months. Farriq was like a breath of fresh air. I could tell him anything, and he wouldn’t judge me or give an opinion unless I asked him.

We hadn’t really spent time together physically, but I felt like I knew him. I was developing feelings for him, but I refused to tell him until the time was right. Today, was going to be our official first date, and I was driving down to where he stayed in Mount Laurel.
